National Management School
The National Management School /NMS/ was founded in 1990 and it acts as a non-profit and non-government organization on national level in Bulgaria. NMS is a training provider focused on extracurricular training, post-graduate studies for secondary education students, career guidance, human resource development and lifelong learning initiatives. The team of NMS consists of university professors, experts in marketing, management, economics, entrepreneurship, public and business administration, and highly qualified and experienced psychologists – certified training specialists in human resource management and development.
The organisation’s mission is to stimulate young people to develop their knowledge and skills on management and entrepreneurship and discover and develop their transversal competences.
NMS organizes regular training courses for over 300 students each year. It operates within a network of 50 Secondary schools in capital Sofia region. Since 1990 the training programmes of NMS have been attended by over 7000 pupils of age 15 to 19 years.
In addition, NMS possesses accreditation from the National Agency for Vocational Education and Training (NAVET, www.navet.government.bg) as a Vocational Education Provider (VET centre) which ensures constant and close links with employers and strategic understanding of the emerging labour market needs, which is an additional guarantee that the youth trainings in transversal competences are tuned to the world of work.
Besides acting as training provider and career guidance centre NMS is specialized in the adaptation of know-how and international team’s management to implement transfers of innovation in the field of education and training with focus on young people. Analysis of feedback from different categories of actors and stakeholders in our projects and work shows that they are timely, useful and interesting for the participants. Development has been always preceded by analysis of the target groups needs and thus the methodologies and approaches in our work with students are being constantly enriched and upgraded. Today NMS has 12 trainers certified by local and international training organizations, as well as a license to complete an adapted methodology for the development of 14 key social competencies necessary for the realization of young people in the labour market. Some of the topics of expertise are directly relevant to the profile of an effective young leader: Competency for Entrepreneurship, Efficiency, Planning and organizing, Proactive approach, Information management, Independence, Flexibility and Lifelong Learning.
NMS has also transferred and developed innovative coaching programme for students in secondary schools and has 4 certified coaches on the topic.
